Honor Flights are an opportunity to honor and thank the Americans who secured our freedom by bringing them to the nation’s capital to see the memorials that commemorate their service. Our ALA unit helps hosting warm send-off and welcome-home events for our Honor Flights at ATW airport.
Funeral Guard
In death as in life, members of the American Legion Family deserve the highest respect and honors. To pay homage to any member who passes away, the American Legion Auxiliary will provide an honor guard at their funeral.
Education for Youth
We offer programs on the meaning and importance of the Poppy, the memorial flower chosen to be the symbol of those who gave their lives and were wounded in the service of their country. We are often invited to schools to come in and educate our youth on the poppy and what it stands for.
If you are interested in having us come to your school please fill out the inquiry form and we will be in contact.
The American Legion Family is dedicated to ensuring that America’s POW/MIAs be honored and recognized, not just memorialized. Legion efforts focus on the need to account as fully as possible for those still missing, alive or dead. An important way all Legion Family members create awareness and remembrance for this initiative is through conducting POW/MIA remembrance services at unit meetings and public events. Strong, united support by all Legion Family members is crucial to bringing all of our heroes home.
Christmas Caroling
Unit # 33 takes great pride in attending christmas caroling around the holidays. Our ALA unit along with our junior members gather and spread holiday cheer at local assisted living facilities. Many veterans and residents look forward to have us back every season!
Care Packages
We often gather treats, cards, non parishables to send over seas to our troops. Our junior members will color pictures, ad make fun crafts to include in the boxes as well.
